Immigration to collaborate with Ikorodu LG to enhance capacity

MR Bala Dangana, Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos State Command has promised to collaborate with Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State, in discharging  its duties in the  area.

Dangana made the promise when he paid a courtesy visit to the council Chairman, Mr Wasiu Adesina, in Ikorodu on Friday.

He highlighted the current structure of the immigration service in Lagos, and strategic measures put in place to improve its quality service delivery.

He said that part of the measures was to create immigration units in different parts of the states like Igbogbo to decongest the  Ikoyi passport office.

Responding, Adesina commended the  NIS for the visible improvement on its service delivery, particularly as it affected security system in the state.

He also commended the agency for its achievement in the area of E-Passport and the establishment of immigration unit in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, stressing the importance of Igbogbo community and Ikorodu in Lagos state.

He said his administration had so far,  supported the agency and was willing to further support and collaborate with it in the areas of security and issuance of international passport.

Present at the event are; Oba Ahmed Ogunderu, the Alagura of Agura Kingdom; senior management staff of NIS and cabinet members of the traditional ruler. (NAN)
