Imo ALGON expresses confidence in Uzodimma’s leadership style

MR Willie Okolieogwo, Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Imo chapter, has pledged the commitment and loyalty of members of the association the Gov. Hope Uzodimma-led administration.
Okolieogwo made the pledge at an interactive/gift presentation forum of the association with the Chief Executive Officer of Valentino Da Vinci Ltd., Mr Valentine Ugbala, at his residence, on Tuesday in Orlu, Imo.
According to him, Uzodimma has performed well in the development of the state, especially in the area of road construction, within his one year in office.
He added that local government chairmen had also lived up to expectation.
“We commend the governor for the good work he is doing in the state. We remain committed, loyal, and supportive to the government of Uzodimma,” he said.
Okolieogwo thanked Ugbala for identifying with the association and for the gift presentation.
The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Bernard Ikegwuoha, enumerated some of the achievements of the present administration, saying that a lot of projects would soon be inaugurated by the governor.
He expressed delight at Ugbala’s gestureto ALGON and commended the council chairmen for the development of their respective local government areas despite the limited resources.
Ikegwuonu enjoined the chairmen to give the governor all the support needed for him to succeed.
The Chairman, Orlu Local Government Council, Mrs Ifeoma Ndukwu, extolled the administrative qualities of the governor and thanked Ugbala for his kind gesture and contributions to the development of Orlu zone.
Earlier, Ugbala said that the parley was to commend the council chairmen for their contributions to the development of their local government areas, in spite of the lean resources.
While disclosing that the gift items had a monetary value of N6.7 million, he promised that it would be a yearly affair, other things being equal.
“The gift is in appreciation of the good works which the council chairmen are doing in their various LGAs and their support for the present administration in the state.
“I have been involved in philanthropic gestures like distribution of school materials, books to schools, and construction of roads and schools, as part of my company’s social responsibility,” he said.
Ugbala pledged his unalloyed support to ALGON members and urged the chairmen to join hands with the governor to succeed.
NAN reports that the highlight of the occasion was the presentation of customized Italian clothes, suites, refrigerators, bags, ties, and other materials to the chairmen and Theophilus Obiefuna, the Eze Umudioka Ancient Kingdom, who was the Father of the Day. (NAN)
