IMO Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Dr MackDonald Ebere says that Obowo Local Government Area (LGA) has the most peaceful party structure in Imo.
Ebere said this on Wednesday at an expanded APC stakeholders meeting in Obowo, organised by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr Kennedy Ibeh.
Ebere said: “As at today, I don’t have any record of crisis in Obowo APC. I can confess that Obowo has the most formidable APC structure in Imo.
“The governor is happy with you, you must keep the tempo on and ensure that you win more members for our great party.”
He urged stakeholders and party members in the LGA “to work for the success of APC and strengthen grassroots membership mobilisation”.
In a remark, the speaker commended Gov. Hope Uzodimma for the enormous construction work going on in different parts of the state.
He said that the governor deserved the people’s support, considering his sterling performance so far.
“The people have no reason not to support the governor. He has done well in his two years in office.
“His 3R (Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery) agenda has brought significant transformation in our state.
“We must remain a united family. We must shun politics of bitterness. Disunity can only distroy our structure and deny us possible victory in the next election.
Ibeh used the opportunity to distribute motorbikes to the 10 ward chairmen in the LGA, saying that “this is one of the ways to show our party leaders love”.
He urged the ward leaders to carry the crusade about the governor’s good governance to the grassroot and ensure that they win more members for the party.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Commissioner for Housing, Dr Love Ineh, Board of Trustees member, Longers Anyawu, Leader of Imo Elders Forum, E.J.K Onyebuchi, and LGA party Chairman, Pius Uwaleme, were among the party chieftains at the meeting. (NAN)
