THE Speaker of the Imo House of Assembly, Mr Kennedy Ibeh, on Thursday announced the dissolution of the standing committees on lands, works and housing.

The Speaker then reconstituted the committees, naming Mr Kanayo Onyemaechi (APC Owerri West), as the chairman and Mr Michael Njoku (APC Obowo) and Uju Onwudiwe (APC Njaba) as members.

He also reconstituted the committees on lands and housing as well as the committee on local government, chieftaincy and autonomous community.

The Majority Leader, Mr Kanayo Onyemaechi, was named the Chairman of the committee on lands and housing, while Mr Blyden Amajirionwu, heads the local government, chieftaincy and autonomous community committee.

He urged the committees to carry out their oversight functions dilligently as well as other assignments they would be directed to carry out.

The speaker further advised the members against signing the attendance register for absent colleagues, describing it as unparliamentary.

He warned that violators would face the disciplinary committee if the trend continues.(NAN)
