THE Apex Igbo Socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has called for coordination and understanding among the South-East governors to move the zone forward.

The National Publicity Secretary of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Dr Alex Ogbonnia, made the call during the inauguration/ swearing-in ceremony of the Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu State on Monday in Enugu.

Ogbonnia said the coordination and understanding become very important for the well-being of Ndigbo.

He charged them on collective Igbo interest above their personal interests to transform the region and give it a direction.

He also emphaised the need for synergy among the governors in the southeast for the common good of the zone.

The publicity secretary stressed that the governors should understand themselves, irrespective of the different political parties they belong to, and fight the course of Ndigbo in general.

“There must be a collective interest of Igbos and youths as well as synergy between Ohaneze and the governors so that Igbo people will move on.

“We saw what happened in the last election, we have seven Igbo governors but they couldn’t manage Igbo interest as they were not coordinated.

“So this time around, we hope the governors will improve on that,” Ogbonnia said.

Ogbonnia, who described Gov. Mbah as organized, man of resilience, zeal and capacity to serve, requested other governors in region to exhibit same qualities. (NAN)
