Independence Day celebration: Transport institute commends Buhari, Transport ministers

THE Governing Council, Management and Staff of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) Zaria, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for working to achieve an improved transportation system in the country.
NITT’s Director General/Chief Executive, Dr Bayero Salih-Farah, made the commendation in an independence anniversary message.
”We commend Buhari’s leadership drive and passion to leave behind a better and improved transportation system in Nigeria,” he stated.
The institute also commended the giant strides made by the Minister and Minister of State for Transportation, Alhaji Mu’azu Sambo and Ademola Adegoroye, respectively for providing the needed policy direction in the transportation and logistics industry.
The NITT boss reaffirmed the commitment of the institute towards achieving its mandate of training and manpower development.
He said that the institute’s vision was to pioneer the development of Smart Transportation System through the deployment of intelligence transport system infrastructure.
According to Salih-Farah, NITT has a vision of deepening research and pioneer innovations on clean energy and development of alternative fuel for the Nigerian transportation industry.
He said another vision was to collaborate with international institutions and private sector in the areas of research, development, training and innovation.
He said the effort was geared towards achieving a vibrant, integrated, multi-model transportation system that would help to meet the needs of the Nigerian economy in consonance with international best practice.
”One of our visions is to also establish functional Drivers’ Development and Training Centres across the country,” Salih-Farah further said. (NAN)
