The National Industrial Court of Nigeria has restrained the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, the Trade Union Congress, TUC, and other affiliates from embarking on the planned industrial action.

Hon. Justice O. Y. Anume, who gave the order on Monday in Abuja, said: “The defendants/respondents are hereby restrained from embarking on the planned industrial action/or strike of any nature, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice dated 5th June, 2023.”

The judge also ordered that the defendants/respondents be immediately served and fixed hearing for the 19th of June, 2023.

Meanwhile, the planned strike action by the NLC and the TUC was on Monday suspended after a meeting with the federal government officials in Abuja on the removal of subsidy.
