INEC Election Result: Akume loses senatorial re-election

A former Benue State Governor, Senator George Akume, who was the APC candidate for Benue North-West senatorial district, popularly called Zone B, during the February 23 National Assembly election, lost to his PDP opponent, Mr Orker Jev.
The collation officer, Prof. Nicodemus Agbulu of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi on Tuesday while announcing the result, said, Jev polled 157,726 votes while Akume got 115,422 votes.
