Twenty-two of the new lawmakers won their elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while the other four won on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

INEC’s Acting Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Oyekola Oyelami, who presented the Certificates of Return, noted that the electoral umpire had recorded huge successes in Ondo State.

He charged the new lawmakers to endeavour to meet the expectations of the electorate in their constituencies.

“As an election management board, we are committed to conducting free, fair, transparent and credible elections.

“INEC has performed well and will continue to perform well, backed by technological innovations,’’ he said.

Speaking on behalf of the lawmakers-elect, the Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, appreciated INEC and security agencies for credible elections in Ondo State.
