INEC reassures 2023 election will hold as planned

THE chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, 

INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said in Abuja on Wednesday, 8th February, that Nigeria’s 2023 General Election will take place as planned.

Yakubu told State House correspondents that he has briefed the Federal Executive Council chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari on the Commission’s preparations for the federal elections on 25th February and States’ polls on 11 March.

Prof Yakubu said he has received assurances from the Central Bank of Nigeria and stakeholders in the petroleum industry that the challenges of cash and petrol scarcity would be resolved.
