INEC urges media to accredit before deadline for Edo Guber

IN preparation for the 2024 Edo Gubernatorial election that is to hold on 21st September, the Independent Electoral Commission has reminds the media that their accreditation for the election coverage is to end on Thursday, 5th September.

This was made public through a press release signed by the National Commissioner & Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr. Sam Olumekun mni

INEC urges media organization that are interested in the election coverage to hasten to upload their details to the portal before midnight of the deadline.

The commission expresses their disappointment in the low turn up of media personnel to accredit for the election coverage “So far, 113 media organisations have uploaded the details of 865 journalists to cover the election.” INEC said.

The commission wishes to let media organization know that there will be no extension of the deadline for the accreditation and unregistered media organisations will not be allowed to observe voting procedures in both field and or during collation of result at various centres.
