THE Niger state government has announced a ban on all forms of processions across the state.

Alhaji Ahmed Matane, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), who announced this in a statement in Minna, on Saturday, stated that the ban was with immediate effect.

According to the the SSG, “the decision to ban all forms of processions was as a result of the security situation in the state”, saying that security agencies had been directed to ensure enforcement and deal with any person, group, organisation or individuals that violated the order.

Matane advised members of the public across the State to adhere strictly to the directive by being law abiding and live peacefully with one another.
