THE Chartered Institute of Transport Administration (CIOTA) says it will strengthen regulation to advance the nation’s modes of transportation.
ClOTA President, Mr Segun Obayendo, communicated this when he led a team from the institute to pay a courtesy visit on the Minister of Transportation, Sen. Said Alkali, on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said that such effort would increase the benefits the masses derived from the transportation sector.
The institute has the mandate to regulate the nation’s modes of transportation- road, railways, sea, and air- by standing as a stalwart in advancing excellence and innovation in the transport sector.
According to Obayendo, the theme of the fourth coming event will be “Emerging National Governance Challenges and Prospects.”
He expressed CIOTA’s commitment to fostering collaboration by driving positive change within the transportation landscape.
The CIOTA president officially invited the minister to the institute’s fifth national transport summit to be held in December.
He said that the industry leaders, policymakers, and visionaries would converge at the coming event to deliberate and chart the course for the future of transportation in the nation.
“The purpose of the visit was to articulate CIOTA’s unequivocal support and shed light on the institute’s specific objectives.
“CIOTA, under the authority of the 2019 Parliamentary Act, is dedicated to shaping the future of transportation in Nigeria through regulatory excellence and strategic initiatives, “he said
Responding, Alkali, commended the institute for its contributions towards national development.
He promised to attend the institute forthcoming event.
CIOTA’s National Publicity Secretary, Mrs Chinwe Uwaegbute, and the ClOTA Registrar, Mr Rasheed Aiyelabegan, were part of the delegation.(NAN)
