THE Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a Shiite militia group, has claimed responsibility for a drone attack on Monday on the observatory base of the Israeli Golani Brigade “in the occupied territories’’.

The group made this known  in a statement.

It said that the attack was executed in solidarity with the people of the Gaza Strip, and vowed to continue targeting  ‘enemy’s strongholds’.

The statement did not provide further details on the attacked site or report any casualties.

On Sunday, the group fired multiple drones and missiles attacks on Israeli targets, as tensions between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah  rose sharply.

Since the onset of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has conducted many attacks on Israeli and U.S. targets in the region to support  of Palestinians in Gaza. (Xinhua/NAN)
