Islamic cleric admonishes couples against 3rd party interference, intolerance

THE Chief Imam of Agyaragu Gabas Central Mosque, Lafia, Malam Muhammadu Rabiu, has admonished couples not to allow third party interference in their marriages.

Rabiu gave the advice on Saturday in Lafia while presiding over the wedding fatiha of two sisters of Alhaji Abdullahi Dahiru-Angibi, member representing Lafia Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the first wedding was between Muntaqa Shu’aibu-Ladan and Salamatu Dahiru-Angibi , while the second one was between Mohammed Laminu and Habiba-Dahiru Angibi.

The cleric tied the nuptial knots and pronounced them as husbands and wives after presentations of medical certificates and dowries.

Rabiu also wished the couples happy and everlasting marriage lives.

He advised them against third party interference in their affairs.

The cleric stressed the need for couples to adhere strictly to the sanctity of marriage institution to have successful homes.

Mr Yahaya Dahiru-Angibi, an officer with the Nigeria Immigration Service, who is an elder brother to the lawmaker, also advised the couples to show love and understanding to each other for successful and happy marriage lives.

Yahaya, who is a former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the former Comptroller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, urged the couples to respect the norms and values of marriage to build peaceful and happy homes.

“I want to congratulate my sisters for their successful marriages today and I wish them peaceful and blessed homes.

“I want to advise the couples to have in their minds that they must not allow third party to interfere in their marriages,” he said.

Speaking further, Hajiya Hajara Dahiru-Angibi, mother to the lawmaker and brides, congratulated the new couples and wished them a blessed matrimony.

Responding, the couples thanked God for making them became husbands and wives.

They also appreciated all those who came from far and near to witness their weddings and wished them journey mercies. (NAN)
