ISRAELI researchers have developed a new combination of three drugs to treat lung cancer that resists conventional treatment, according to a research published by the Weizmann Institute of Science in central Israel.
Lung cancer is the number one cause of death from malignant diseases.
The researchers have planted cancerous cells in mice, and then treated them with three drugs called Tagrisso, Erbitux and Herceptin.
Following the treatment, the tumours shrunk and did not grow back as long as the mice received the treatment.
All three drugs have already been approved for human use, making it easier to apply the new method to lung cancer patients.(Xinhua/NAN)
