JUSTICE Development and Peace Commission Caritas Onitsha Region has nominated eminent and prominent men and women of impeccable integrity and unblemish character for honorary outstanding personalities awards.They were chosen based on their remarkable and outstanding achievements in their various fields of endeavors.
The chairman of the organizing committee Evangelist Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme flanked by the secretary, Ebele Attiah and Regional Chairperson, Cordelia Mba reeled out the names of the awardees. Prominent among them includes a leading presidential candidate under Labour Party and former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi who is also Chief Guest of Honor, business mogul and philanthropist CEO Innoson Group of Companies, Innocent Chukwumah, George Muoghalu, managing director, National Inland Waterways Authority, who is also father of the day, Episcopal Vicar Onitsha Region Very Rev. Fr. Johnbosco Okafor, and immediate past JDPC director, Rev. Father Martin Onukwuba.
Others includes distinguished Senators Chief Victor Umeh,Stella Oduah, Hon. Lynda Ikpeazu, Hon.Com For Petroleum Resources, Tony Ifeanya, Owelle Chief Sir Tony Chinedu, Chimezie Osuji, Jude Umennajiego Labour Party House of Assembly candidate Onitsha South 2, among others.
According to Ezekwueme, the awardees were selected on merits and their firm believe in the assertion of John Holmes “that the only good motive in life is the motive of doing good for ones country and her citizens.In addition to postulation of St Mother Theresa of Calcutta”that one has not lived unless he lives for others.This is in tandem with vision, mission and philosophy of JDPC and Catholic Church.
Others highlights of the event includes public lecture with the themed “Roles Of JDPC in Nation building”by JDPC Onitsha Archdiocesan director Rev. Fr. Edwin Udoye and Citizens Active Participation in Democratic Process by Evangelist Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme .
Necessary arrangements has been made to ensure hitch free,result oriented and memorable event.The event slated for 4th December 2022, will take place at St Mary’s Catholic Church Inland Town Onitsha under the distinguished chairmanship of renowned legal practitioner Joe Ogbuli.
