JIBWIS donates 9,000 artificial limbs to physically challenged persons

THE National chapter of the Jama’atul Izalatil Bid’a Wa’iqamatus-Sunnah (JIBWIS), has donated artificial limbs to no fewer than 9,000 physically challenged persons across Nigeria in the last three years.
The leader of the JIBWIS team, in-charge of Orphans Committee, Mallam Abdullahi Diggi, disclosed this during a courtesy visit on Gov. Nasir Idris at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the gesture was made possible by JIBWIS in collaboration with Toleram Foundation, India.
Abdullahi-Diggi, who is also the Deputy Director, Finance, National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), noted with satisfaction that in Kebbi, 117 persons benefited from the programme as part of humanitarian activities to the less privileged persons in the society.
He said: “Of the total number, 291 less privileged persons benefited from the Northwest region, while in Kebbi, 117 persons benefited from the gesture.”
In his remarks, the Chairman of JIBWIS in Kebbi, Sheikh Aliyu Ladda, appealed to the governor to request for more of the limbs from the National Chairman of JIBWIS, Sheik Abdullahi Bala-Lau, to enable more people in the state to benefit.
He appreciated the governor for the hospitality accorded to the medical team, who visited the state for health mission, and appealed to the people to rally round their governor in view of his developmental strides and desire to do more for the benefit of all.
Ladda told the governor that JIBWIS was planning to establish a School of Health Technology in Kebbi, adding that the organisation was already into feeding orphans among other initiatives across Nigeria.
Responding, the governor expressed happiness over the humanitarian efforts of JIBWIS, especially to the less privileged persons of the society.
Idris promised to request for more generous programmes of JIBWIS for the people of the state to gain from the gesture of the organisation.
According to him, the unwavering gesture of JIBWIS, particularly to the orphans and less privileged are worthy of commendation, assuring that his administration will not relent in promoting the growth and development of Islam. (NAN)
