JIBWIS Islamic sect wants govt, philanthropists to alleviate the plight of Orphans — Sheikh Lau
General News
Sheikh Abdullahi Bala-Lau, National Chairman, Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) , has urged governments and wealthy individuals to intensify efforts towards improving the plight of orphans in the country.
Bala-Lau, who made the call on Saturday, in Katsina, while speaking with newsmen, said the call became imperative in view of the increasing number of orphans in the country, who were facing a lot of hardships in the society.
The JIBWIS chairman revealed that like other children, orphans deserved quality education, good healthcare and proper care by the society.
“An orphan has no one to give him food, pay his/her school fees and nobody takes care of his/her health. They are those children who lost their parents before maturity. If the society fails to take care of them, they can grow up as hoodlums,” he said.
According to him, neglecting orphans could also make them to fall into wrong hands, who would exploit them for their selfish interests, as such ”we should not only take care of their food, but we should as well, enroll them into schools and empower them ,” he said.
The chairman also urged parents to continue to ensure proper upbringing of their children, because doing so would assist in preventing the children from indulging in drug abuse.
He also called on Nigerians to intensify efforts toward joining hands with governments and relevant authorities to ensure peaceful coexistence in the country.
The JIBWIS national chairman urged people to continue to shun all forms of sin and pray to Almighty Allah to bring an end to the insecurity challenges facing the country, while leaders should intensify efforts towards ensuring justice for all people. (NAN)
