Jobless man faces trial over alleged theft of motorcycle

A 40-year-old unemployed, Okechukwu Okpara, who allegedly stole a motorcycle worth N250, 000.00, was on Thursday docked at an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court, in Lagos State.
Okpara, whose address is not known, was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The Police Prosecutor, Sgt John Iberedem, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Nov. 20, at about 11.30 a.m. at the Oseni Eyita area of Ikorodu.
He said that the accused stole a red motorcycle with registration number LSD 271 QL belonging to the complainant, Mr Emmanuel Nworie.
Okpara, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He said that the offence contravened Section 278 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs F. A. Azeez, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100, 000 and two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Dec. 20, for mention.
