John Demps becomes highest grossing director of photography in 2024

JOHN Demps, a cinematographer with a career spanning decades, has emerged as the highest grossing director of photography for 2024, for the film “Everybody Loves Jenifa”.
This was revealed by Filmone on its Instagram page, @filmoneng, on Tuesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the film has generated N1.125 billion at the box office.
Filmone wrote: “A great movie they say starts with a great shot. We are saluting the highest grossing Nollywood Directors of Photography in 2024.
“They captured the breathtaking scenes and jaw dropping camera angles of your favourite Nollywood titles.”
Demps also took to his Instagram page, @njagadem, to celebrate the feat.
He wrote:”One does not reach this destination alone. We were led by a fearless leader, Funke Akindele and we were her captains, sergeants and soldiers.
“Congratulations to us all and let’s continue rising.”
Emmanuel Igbekele clinched the second highest grossing director of photography in 2024, for the films “Queen Lateefah” and “Ajosepo”.
Also, Idowu Adedapo made the third highest grossing director of photography with “Beast of Two Worlds: Ajakaju”, and “Alakada Bad and Boujee”.
Sango Adegoke emerged as the fourth highest grossing director of photography with “Lakatabu”, while Emmanuel Oputa clinched the fifth position, for “The Waiter”.
Ifeme CS made the sixth highest grossing director of photography in 2024, for the films: “All’s Fair in Love”, and “Move Like a Boss”.
Lance Gewer clinched the seventh highest grossing director of photography for “Funmilayo Ransom-Kuti”.
Barnabas Emordi clinched the eighth position for the films: “The Betrayed”, “When Love Strikes”, “Meeting Funmi’s Parents”, “Insecure”, and “A Night in 2005”.
Abiola Ladipo emerged the ninth for “Muri & Ko”, while Adekunle Adejuigbe bagged the tenth position for “Wives on Strike: The Uprising”. (NAN)
