THE Jordanian military intercepted a combat drone on Friday morning that was coming from Syrian territories.

Servicemen of the Eastern Military Region downed the drone loaded with weapon parts that had crossed illegally into the kingdom’s territory earlier in the day, the Jordanian armed forces said.

The confiscated items were transferred to the concerned authorities, it said.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Jordanian army also said it brought down a drone carrying approximately 500 grams of narcotics near the borders with Syria.

In May, the army foiled three attempts to smuggle narcotics into Jordan from Syria.  (Xinhua/NAN)
