19-year-old docked for allegedly damaging ATM

A 19-year-old man, Yusuf Fatai, who allegedly damaged an Automated Teller Machine (ATM), on Tuesday appeared in an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

The police charged Fatai with malicious damage, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Oladele Adebayo told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 31, at 3 p.m., at the UBA, LUTH Branch,  Idi-Araba.

He said that the defendant maliciously damaged the ATM valued at N389,000 and property of United Bank for Africa PLC.

Adebayo said the offence contravened the [provisions of Section 339 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Chief Magistrate O.O. Olatunji admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until April 25. (NAN)
