A Cleric, Rev. Excellence Haruna of the New Benin Baptist Church has called on the newly sworn-in Edo Chief Judge, Justice Esther Edigin, to use her position to uplift the people positively.

Haruna made the call in Benin on Sunday at a Thanksgiving Service in honour of the chief Judge.

According to him, it is only God that gives position to men and when given, it should be used to touch lives positively.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Edigin was sworn in on Friday as the seventh Chief Judge of Edo.

In her remarks, Justice Edigin, thanked God and Gov. Godwin Obaseki for the position and gave an assurance that there would be effective justice delivery in the state.

In attendance at the thanksgiving were, the state Deputy Governor, Mr Philip Shaibu; the Speaker, Edo House of Assembly, Mr Frank Okiye; Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie; and members of the judiciary in the state. (NAN)
