AN Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun, on Wednesday ordered the remand of one Rasaq Adefisayo,  over alleged N454,000 fraud.

Adefisayo, 35, is facing a three-count charge of fraud, stealing and threat to life, offences he denied committing.

Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode, ordered the remand of the defendant and adjourned the case until Nov. 11, for ruling on the bail application.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Emmanuel Abdullahi, had told the court that the accused committed the offences sometime between February 2015 and August 2016 at Aladanla Area, Ilesa Road, Ile-Ife.

Abdullahi said that the defendant fraudulently obtained N385,000 from one Margret Akinwande on the pretext of supplying her planks.

He said that in addition, Adefisayo deceived Akinwande into parting with a dummer chain saw, valued at N69,000, all totaling N454,000.

The prosecutor said that when the accused was not forthcoming with the planks, Akinwande called him on phone to refund her money and the saw, but Adefisayo threatened her life.

Abdullahi said that Adefisayo threatened to terminate the life of the complainant if she ever called his phone number again.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 86, 383, 390 (9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002. – NAN
