The speaker said as lawmakers, they will discharge their responsibilities on the constitutional guide and law.

The speaker expressed regrets that he was unable to ensure the amendment of the revised 1989 laws of Niger State when he served as the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice.

“We cannot be using the 1989 because there are many problems associated with it.

“When I was Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, I tried my best to update the laws but it never happened. I regret it.

“I hope the state is able to do that within the next three years and you can be sure that the Assembly will give you all the necessary support to ensure that comes to fruition.’’

In her remarks, the Chairperson of the commission, Aisha Gana, solicited for the support of the legislative arm to meet their mandate.
