Sokoto court remands 3 civil servants for allegedly stealing 3 farm tractors

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Sokoto, on Wednesday remanded three civil servants accused of stealing three farm tractors belonging to the Sokoto State Ministry of Agriculture .
The police charged Muazu Abubakar, 46; Abubakar Danlami, 60 and Sambo Ahmadu, 45 all of Sokoto metropolis with two counts of criminal conspiracy and cheating.
The Chief Magistrate, Abubakar Adamu, adjourned the case until Dec. 20, for further mention.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Khalid Musa, told the court that the case was reported at the State Investigative bureau Sokoto.
Musa alleged that the accused persons criminally conspired with one Alhaji Ibrahim Birnin-Kebbi and others now at large, stole three farm tractors belonging to the ministry of agriculture.
He alleged that the accused persons realised N2.700 million from the sale of the tractors.
The prosecutor said that offence contravened the provisions of section 97, 322 of the Penal Code.
After the charges were read to them, they pleaded not guilty.
