THE management of Kaduna Electric on Tuesday stated that it had concluded the phase zero of the National Mass Metering Programme (NMMP) provided by the Federal Government.
The company’s Head of corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, made this known in a statement issued to the News Agency of Nigeria, Kaduna.
He said that any customer who needed a meter would have to purchase one through the ongoing Meter Asset Provider Scheme (MAP), adding that free meters were no longer available.
According to him, the cost of the meter purchased under the MAP scheme would be amortized and customers would be refunded with energy credits over a three-year period.
He explained that the revised cost of the meters under the MAP scheme was N63,061.32 for a single phase meter while a three phase meter costs N117,910.69.
“The company is working closely with its approved MAPs to sensitise customers to the scheme and assured that customers who opted for the scheme were guaranteed a meter within 24 hours.
“Kaduna Electric shall resume the National Mass Metering Programme as soon as the Federal Government kicked off the Phase One of the Programme in due course,” he said.
He urged customers to take advantage of the MAP scheme and get metered to avoid controversies that may arise from estimated billing.
Abdullahi stated that metering would allow customers to monitor their consumption and save money in the process.(NAN)
