THE Governing Council of Kaduna State University (KASU) has approved three months provisional tenure extension for the acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Ashafa.
The provisional extension would run from Sept. 23 to Dec. 22, 2022, a statement by the university’s Public Relation Officer, Mr Adamu Bargo, said in Kaduna on Tuesday.
Bargo quoted the Chairman of the council, Malam Hussaini Dikko, as saying that “the tenure extension was subject to ratification by Council or the appointment of a substantive vice-chancellor”.
“Ashafa thanked the Governing Council and assured his unwavering commitment, dedication and continuing consultation with the Council for guidance, towards taking KASU to greater heights,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ashafa was first appointed acting vice-chancellor of the university in June 2022. (NAN)
