KAEDC to Distribute 100,000 Pre-Paid Meters

KADUNA Electricity Distribution Company, KAEDC, is to distribute 100,000 pre-paid meters free to customers in Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states annually. Garba Haruna, managing director, KAEDC, on Monday, August 24, at the induction ceremony for 3,000 newly recruited staff of the company held at the Sultan Maccido Institute for Quran and General Studies, Sokoto, said the pre-paid meters would be distributed free to 390,000 customers in the four states.

The company will start the distribution of the meters to electricity consumers in September. “KAEDC takes the issue of metering very seriously. In our business plan, we have the plan to provide 100,000 meters annually and even have the capacity to provide more.

“From next month, we will commence the distribution of the meters. So, we are prepared in terms of metering and that is why we are taking time to ensure that we induct this new employees and train them,” he said.
