Kano APC to track FG’s N3 bn flood disaster relief funds

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State said it would closely monitor the state government’s utililsation of the N3 billion flood relief funds provided by the Federal Government.

 Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the party’s Chairman in the state,  told the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in a telephone interview on Sunday in Kano.

He said that the party would ensure transparency and accountability in the utilisation  of the funds.

Abbas expressed concerns over potential diversion, citing previous instances of misuse of  palliatives.

Abbas emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the utilisation of the funds for the benefit of the people.

Abbas assured that the party  would  prevent a repeat of incidents where   funds meant for peopel affected by flooding were diverted.

He said   that a committee led by the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Barau Jibril, has been constituted   to oversee the  distribution of palliatives in the state.

The chairman  reiterated the party’s  commitment to prevent the diversion of funds meant for the people of Kano for political reasons.

He said that the party would ensure  that the  funds are used for the  purpose it is meant for.( NAN)
