Kano Fire Service saves 71 lives, property worth N83m in one month

THE Kano State Fire Service said it saved 71 lives and property worth N83 million from 76 fire incidents in November.

This is contained in a statement issued by the service Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, on Friday in Kano.

Abdullahi, however, said that 19 persons lost their lives while  property worth N36 million were destroyed by fire during the period under review.

He said the service responded to 44 rescue calls and 16 false alarms from residents of the state.

The spokesperson urged the general public to be cautious when handling electrical appliances and anything related to fire during harmattan season. (NAN)
