Kano Government advises governor-elect to exercise patience
Politics
KANO State Government has called on Abba Kabir Yusuf declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as governor-elect to exercise patience and desist from issuing official pronouncement in form of public advisory.
It said the call became imperative in order not to cause unnecessary confusion in the state.
A statement on Friday by Kano Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba said it was reacting to a directive issued from the office of the governor-elect, warning individuals, groups and organisations undertaking construction on public places to keep off.
Garba said the action of the governor-elect amounts to jumping the gun by giving directive on a matter affecting government laid down policy while the incumbent is yet to run his full term.
