Kano Pillars to feature in African Handball tourney in Egypt

THE Kano Pillars Handball club, says it plans to participate in the African Club’s championship scheduled for between Nov. 13 and Nov. 25 in Cairo, Egypt.

Kano Pillars Head Coach, Solomon Yola, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday, in Abuja, that the club had been training hard for the championship.

The coach said that the players would be called to camp on Sept. 14 to start serious preparation ahead of the competition.

“Our target is to be among the best clubs at the end of the competition and to make State Government proud.

“This is the fourth time we are participating in the competition. This is a tournament where the best clubs in the continent meet to contest the best sport.

“My players are determined to do their best to come out victorious at the end of the competition,” he said.

Yola said that the championship would also prepare the club for the handball national league and the National Sports Festival (NSF). (NAN)
