Kano State task force issues violation notice on ”Yan-lemo” fruit market

THE Kano State Task Force Commitee on sanitation has issued a violation notice to the management of ‘Yan-lemo fruit market, following their failure to sanitise their business premises.
The Chairman of the commitee, Dr Kabiru Getso, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the notice was issued after the monthly environmental sanitation excercise for Markets, Motor Parks and workplaces on Friday.
Getso, also the state Commissioner for Environment, expressed dismay over the condition of the market.
”We gave a three -day abatement notice to the management of the market and failure to comply will attract sanctions.
“The sanitary conditions of food markets in Kano has been given a priority by the Ganduje-led administration.
”We urge the management of other business premises in the state, to conduct regular environmental sanitation to safeguard people’s health,” he said.
Responding, the Chairman of the fruits market, Mr Safiyanu Abdullahi promised to comply with the order.
He assured that the management will ensure a sustainable plan for daily sanitation of the market to avoid accumulation of refuse.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the committee was also at the Unguwa Uku motor park to inspect their premises.
The committee under Getso, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the end of the month sanitation for motor parks, workplaces and markets.
The motor park was commended for regulating their public conveniences and maintainance of general hygiene. (NAN)
