Katsina lawmaker donates 33KVA transformer to community

A member of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Nasir Yahaya, has donated a 33KVA transformer worth over N4 million to Kalgo community in Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Yahaya (APC – Daura State Constituency), made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday in Daura.

He said the gesture was imperative to provide electricity to the constituents, hitherto, living without power as well as boost economic activities in the area.

Yahaya reiterated commitment to address erratic power supply and ensure the provision of dividends of democracy to the people in the area.

Also speaking, Sulaiman Jasko, the Ward Head of Kalgo community, lauded the gesture, adding that it would go a long way to address power problems being experienced in the community.

Jasko pledged support to the government’s policies and programmes, to fast track sustainable social and economic development of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the lawmaker had also embarked on the upgrade of the water reticulation system in Daura LGA. (NAN)
