A socio-political group, Kebbi Development Forum (KDF) has distributed 100 bags of grains worth N2 million to 2020 flood victims in five local government areas (LGAs) of Kebbi State.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the five LGAs are; Fakai, Augie, Birnin – Kebbi, Bagudo, and Shanga.

During the distribution at Garin – Isah in Fakai LGA, the Chairman, Flood Appeal Fund Committee, Prof. Ahmad Sanda said the palliative was meant to cushion the effects of the flood on the victims.

Sanda, who was represented by Prof. Sa’idu Umar sympathized with the victims and urged them to accept the will of God in good faith.

“Members of the forum donated the money to purchase the grains for onward distribution to over 800 flood victims in five LGAs in the state.

“Each of the affected villages in the LGAs will receive 10 bags of millet and 10 bags of maize as a palliative for the affected victims,” he said.

Sanda said a similar gesture was extended by the forum in the area of educational development through the training of primary school teachers as well as the provision of healthcare services.

He said the forum also assisted farmers in benefitting from CBN’s Anchor Borrowers’ Programme loan scheme of N393million apart from the provision of tree seedlings and planting of trees.

Sanda assured the people that a similar gesture would take off in other villages in Bagudo and Shanga local government areas of the state.
