Keep believing in us, NIPOST urges customers

THE Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST), has urged its customers to keep believing in its improved products and services aimed at serving them better.

Mr Friday Akoma, the State Postal Manager, Enugu gave the advice during the celebration of “2024 World Post Day” held in Enugu on Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that World Post Day is celebrated every Oct. 9 to create awareness to the crucial role of the postal sector even in a world steeped in digital communication.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “150 Years of Enabling Communication and Empowering People Across Nations,” aimed at honouring the enduring legacy of the Postal sector.

Akoma said that the organisation was now positioned to provide and offer quality products and services to its customers by leveraging on technology to fast track its services and move with other nations in timely mail delivery.

According to him, NIPOST is ready to connect lives and providing solution to customers’ problems as per mailing, product and services.

“We are still very much in the business of touching lives, delivery of goods and services. Customers, especially those in Enugu State should have faith in us and continue to support and patronise NIPOST,” he said.

He added that under the current leadership of Postmaster-General of the Federation of NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi, NIPOST had made significant strides with some notable achievements.

This, he said, include modernisation and renovation of Postal infrastructure and technology expansion of financial inclusion services through Post Office banking enhancement of e-commerce capabilities.

“Others are introduction of innovative products and services, such as counter automation, track and trace, Improvement in mail delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction .

“NIPOST is also strengthening international partnerships and collaborations,” Akoma said.

The state postal manager stressed that these accomplishments demonstrated its commitment to adapting to changing times, embracing innovation, and meeting the evolving needs of the customers.

“Today’s event serves as a platform to reflect on our rich history and heritage, showcase innovative postal services and technologies, strengthen international cooperation and collaboration as well as the importance of universal access to postal services”

He commended organisation’s partners and stakeholders for their collaboration as well as postal workers nationwide for their tireless efforts, in spite of the numerous challenges.

Akoma, however, listed poor funding and insecurity as the major challenges facing the operations of NIPOST in the state. (NAN)
