Okonkwo described Obiano as a magnanimous man, who had given hope to the despondent in the state.
Okongwu Charles, the national president, Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria, MTUN, said the endorsement was a unanimous decision of the both unions, as the previous administrations had never touched their lives in by promoting their welfare.
In their different speeches, Ikechukwu Ezike, the vice-chairman Tricycle Association, and Aguluchukwu Nwosu, chairman Okada Riders Association, Awka South, noted that the security installed by Obiano government contributed to success of transport business in the state.
Victor Oye, the national chairman, All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, recalled the governor’s intervention through the economic stimulus package, where their daily contributions were suspended to the benefit of the cyclists.
Responding, Governor Willie Obiano advised them to refrain from using their Okada to engage in snatching and robberies, but rather report suspicious movements to appropriate authority.
Obiano said he would continue to provide them with enabling factors that would enhance transportation.
He urged them to remain resolute and always express their support to APGA, and as well secure their votes in the November 18 Governorship Election.
Obiano also presented two brand new Sienna vehicles to the two unions to assist them in projecting the good works of the governor.
Cash gift of N4 million was presented to the groups by the governor as a support.
