–
AS part of arrangements to give the late Stephen Keshi, former Super Eagles coach a befitting burial, the federal government is set to constitute a burial committee. Mohammed Sanusi, general secretary, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, said the committee will have representations from the federal government, the NFF as well as Delta and Edo States.
The general secretary further revealed that, according to the preliminary plans, the burial will take place by the last week of July.
Meanwhile, former world player of the year, George Weah of Liberia and the Ghana-born former France defender, Marseille Desailly are among some international players who have indicated interest to attend the burial.
The NFF revealed that the players called the NFF to inquire about the burial arrangements. “Yes I can reveal to you that one of the renowned African players yesterday called the NFF to know about the burial plans and they have been promised that the details will be communicated to them as soon as it was concluded.”
The committee is expected to be made public before the end of next week.
