STEPHEN Keshi, former Nigeria coach, will soon be coaching a club in the South African Premier Soccer League, PSL, after he agreed to work with an agency in the country.
AfricanFootball.com confirmed that he had agreed a deal with the Johannesburg-based agency to secure a deal for him with a PSL club ahead of the 2016/17 season. “Stephen Keshi has signed with Quality Talent Sports, one of the biggest agencies in South Africa and they will work towards getting him a club in the PSL as soon as possible,” a source confirmed.
Keshi, a former Nigeria captain, has coached the senior national teams of Togo and Mali, qualifying the former to the 2006 FIFA World Cup. His last job was with Nigeria, where he won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations as well as reaching the Round of 16 at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Keshi will not be the first Nigeria ex-international to work in South Africa. Nigerian coaches Shaibu Amodu, Okey Emordi, Austin Eguavoen and late Musa Abdullahi have previously worked there.
