Kidnapped Plateau monarch regains freedom

Barely four days after his abduction by suspected kidnappers, the second class chief of the Dorok Kingdom in Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State, David Isa, been released.
The paramount ruler was kidnapped last Monday in his palace at about 8pm by gunmen numbering over ten who whisked him away to an unknown destination.
The Plateau State Police Command in a statement in Jos on Saturday confirmed the release of the traditional ruler
The statement signed by the Command’s Spokesman, Mathias Tyopev, said, ‘’We wish to inform the general public that HRH Engr. David Isah Dongbam, the Second Class Chief of the Dorock Kingdom of Shandam Local Government Area of Plateau State has unconditionally been released by his kidnappers.
‘’The Paramount Ruler who was kidnapped on November 19 regained his freedom today being Saturday November 24 at about 0010hrs.”
According to the police, the traditional ruler has since been examined by some medical doctors and given a clean bill of health .
The statement which did not disclose the location where the traditional ruler was found further added that his ‘’unconditional release became necessary when his kidnappers noticed that our men, Police Personnel, were closing in on them and the only option left for them was to release their victim.
The statement thanked the people of Plateau State for their patience and understanding, particularly the Dorok kingdom for reposing their confidence in the Police by allowing them to carry out a Search and Rescue Operation without interference which led to the release of the monarch. – Punch
