SOUTH Sudanese financial institution Kush Bank will participate at the sixth edition of the South Sudan Oil & Power, SSOP, conference & Exhibition in June as a platinum sponsor. As a top tier sponsor, Kush Bank will sponsor and exclusively host a special poolside opening reception at the Radisson Blu Hotel on June 14.

The platinum sponsorship follows the bank’s high-level participation as a gold sponsor at last year’s edition, whereby Kush Bank signed two industry-advancing deals.

The first deal saw Kush Bank receiving a mandate to finance $75 million for Ezra Group and Jedco’s integrated energy value chain project in South Sudan, while the second comprised the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Orus Consulting, aimed at strengthening both parties’ investment efforts across the country.

Having emerged as a leading local bank in the energy space, this year, Kush Bank, led by CEO Ryan O’Grady, will meet with regional and local energy players, with the aim of advancing financing deals. The bank’s platinum sponsorship will advance this agenda, positioning Kush Bank at the center of networking and dialogue efforts.

“We welcome Kush Bank as a platinum sponsor at SSOP 2023, the sixth edition of the country’s foremost energy conference. Building on partnerships forged during 2022’s edition, the financial institution is expected to play an important role in reaffirming South Sudan as the engine of East African growth by facilitating and raising the capital needed to get new projects off the ground. We look forward to the suite of new deals that will be signed this year,” states James Chester, Senior Director at SSOP event organizer, Energy Capital & Power.
