KYRGYZ President Sadyr Japarov intends to pay a two-day visit to Moscow starting from Feb. 24, an informed diplomatic source told Sputnik on Monday.

“The first visit is, definitely, to Moscow.

“The Kyrgyz president plans to visit Russia from Feb. 24 to Feb. 25,’’ the source said.

According to the source, the agenda will cover a range of bilateral issues, including economic and social topics, the coronavirus pandemic, Russian vaccines, budget support, obtaining a loan from the Eurasian Development Bank, migration, and security.

The Kyrgyz presidential office, in turn, told Sputnik that Japarov was currently in self-isolation as part of preparations for the visit to avoid the risk of contracting COVID-19.

Japarov, who assumed presidential office in late January, has repeatedly called Russia the key strategic partner of the Central Asian country.

After the announcement of the election results in January, Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister, Ravshanbek Sabirov said that Japarov’s first official foreign visit would be to Russia. (Sputnik/NAN)
