Labour Party debunks plans to extend rallies beyond INEC guidelines

THE Labour Party through the Obi-Datti Support Groups Worldwide, OSGW, has said that all its campaign marches and rallies will stop on Thursday, February 23, 2023 as stipulated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
It said that the notice became necessary following an intelligence report that some opposition politicians are planning to dress their members in Labour Party colours and conduct rallies beyond the date stated by the INEC, thereby preparing grounds for possible disqualification of our principal, Peter Obi.
According to a statement signed on Wednesday, February 22, by Kingland Justin, Lead, ObiDatti Global March, Marcel Ngogbehei Head Strategy, ObiDatti Global March, and Nina Atalor, Head, PCC Support Groups, all campaign activities of political campaigns are within 150 days from the publication of Notice of Election and ends 24 hours before the election day.
This means that campaigns should end on Thursday, 23rd February 2023 at 23:59hrs; 24hrs before election day.
Part of the statement reads: “We are aware that they will want to employ technicalities at every opportunity. All Obidient family should therefore remain gallant and vigilant, don’t display any Labour Party material beyond this time and date. We will be monitoring the political space 24/7 and will raise alarm once we see rogue elements masquerading as OBIdients or Labour Party faithful. Please contact our National Secretariat hotline 08034011544 (Vera) If you notice any violation.
