THE Lagos State Football Association board members led by Gafar Olawale Liameed on Friday at the Lagos FA Secretariat, Surulere reached an agreement with representatives of football coaches from the Netherlands, who are in Lagos for another edition of the annual Greensprings/Kanu Summer Football Camp.

Speaking during the visit of Greensprings Summer camp team led by project manager, Uche Ogbu, Liameed requested for a partnership with Netherlands to organise a coaching seminar for Lagos state football coaches.

The FA in partnership with Netherlands intends to have a free coaching clinic for more than 2,000 coaches.

He also disclosed that the best coach in Lagos State would be sponsored for a six-week international coaching clinic in the Netherlands.

Reacting to the request, the head of the coaches from the Netherlands, Jerino Lekatompessij, commended the Lagos FA for the idea, stating that they are willing partners for such ideas.

Meanwhile, following the request of Ogbu, who on behalf of Greensprings, asked the State FA to sponsor 10 kids to the summer camp in celebration of its 10th anniversary.

Responding, Liameed said that because of cash constraints, he would personally sponsor two kids, while three other board members would sponsor a kid each, at the total cost of N1.4m.

Thirty coaches are expected to attend the ‘Train the Trainers,’ out of which 12-15 coaches will be selected for the summer camp slated for April 7-11 2024.
