Lagos NSCDC reiterates commitment to grassroot security

LAGOS State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has reiterated its commitment to grassroot security.

The State Commandant of the corps , Mr Adedotun Keshinro reiterated the commitment during the groundbreaking ceremony, of the proposed, Divisional Office headquarters in Ora, Ora Kingdom, Eredo Division of the Command

This is contained in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Corps (SC) Oluwaseun Abolurin, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday.

Keshinro said that the corps would ensure the emplacement of grassroot security for the people of Eredo Local Council Development Area, and advised criminals to leave the locality.

According to him, this entire community will no longer be a safe haven for vandals, saboteurs, criminals and unscrupulous elements.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness, Adekoya Ogungbesan, Olu Ora of Ora Kingdom in his remarks, said that there was the need for a befitting office and hospitable residential accomodations for the NSCDC Division in the community.

The traditional ruler emphasised that this was imperative to ensure the protection of lives and property of the people and the Kingdom.

He therefore, called on the entire government and political leaders in the LCDA to join hands with the corps to ensure that the project was expedited completed.

The traditional ruler added that provision of operational vehicle(s) for the office on or before the completion of the project would be a lauded development.

He also assured the command that all the components worthy of a good Divisional Headquarters have been fully considered, in the architectural design of the building for smooth delivery of quality operational and administrative services.

In the same vein, the Chairman, Eredo LCDA, Akinloye Monsuru called on the residents of the locality to embrace the development and support the good initiatives, which he said would reduce criminality in the environment.

Monsuru, represented by his Vice, Mr Abdulateef Adesanya, assured the command of the support of the Chairman towards the successful completion of the project and other needed supports that would emplace effective grassroot security in the locality.(NAN)
