AHEAD of the 2023 general elections, a group of young and vibrant Lagosians, Alimosho Youth Vanguard, has thrown its weight behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Lagos West Senatorial district, Otunba Segun Adewale, popularly known as Aeroland.

The group said their decision was based on their conviction that Aeroland would be offering the senatorial district better representation in the National Assembly’s red chamber.

According to the group, he is one of the rare selfless leaders with an admirable personality, courage, clear vision, and ambition to offer quality representation for Lagos west in the upper chamber.

The group, in a statement released after a stakeholders meeting held in Alimosho and signed by its Convener, Mr. Lanre Oni, assured the residents of the district that the PDP candidate remains the best for Lagos west.

According to him, apart from his charitable deeds in the past, Adewale has shown his competence with his ability to keep his business, Aeroland Travels stable for many years despite the challenges he has encountered politically.

“Otunba Segun Adewale possesses distinctive noble qualities—honor, total dedication, self-discipline, extreme selflessness, exemplary patriotism, sober judgment, and intellectual honesty.

“He is the only politician in the history of Alimosho or Lagos West as a whole who without holding any political office, raise a huge amount of capital for market women to access loans without interest. Thousands of market women benefited and are still benefiting to date,” Oni said.

The statement added that Adewale has been supporting many community football clubs and other youth groups in Lagos West where he has given buses, kits, and other items as well as built and handed over several clean water boreholes in different commissions.

The Convener also disclosed that the PDP candidate has maintained a long list of elders, the majority of whom are pensioners who are deprived of their entitlement, offering them monthly upkeep allowance, while also employing many youths.

“We are not a political group but rather a group of resourceful individuals who are fighting for good governance. We are made up of members from APC, PDP, and LP. Some of us are OBIDIENT, some are BATIFIED and some are ARTICULATED… But when it comes to Lagos West Senatorial in 2023. We have all resolved to vote and protect the vote of our brother, Otunba Segun Adewale.

“Segun Adewale, regardless of his political platform has build boreholes, re-construct bridges, create jobs, given loans to market women, and given monthly stipends to the aged.

“We voted him in during the previous elections and his mandate was stolen and we will resist all attempts to rig him out this time.

“We don’t care what happens to other positions, but you see this Lagos West senatorial seat should be left for Segun Adewale because he is the choice of the masses.”
