General News
Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau has commended the Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Hon. Rufus Bature, for awarding scholarships and other assistance to indigenes of the state.
The governor gave the commendation during Lalong’s 60th birthday thanksgiving service at Church Of Christ In Nation (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
Lalong, in a statement issued by his Spokesperson, Dr Makut Macham, on Sunday in Jos, commended Bature for serving his family, community, and humanity with all his gifts, talents, and resources.
He said that the APC chairman had demonstrated capacity to work with people from all backgrounds, particularly at the grassroots level.
The governor described Bature as a reliable and competent leader, a man of integrity and an epitome of humility.
He said that Bature, in his position as a member of the House of Assembly and Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, among other positions he had held, had exhibited high sense of patriotism and resilience in serving the state and Nigeria over the years.
He said: “60 years in the life of a man calls for celebrations, particularly for someone who rose from a humble background to work hard and, by God’s grace, rose to political prominence.
Lalong urged the chairman to continue to be a loyal, committed and kind person, saying this was critical in his political journey.
He expressed optimism that the celebrator would ensure victory for the party, not only in the state but also, in the presidential elections. (NAN)
