ONE Udochukwu Iwuoha, has been stabbed to death by his landlord, Paul Oparaugo and five of his children who are now on the run.
The incident took place on Wednesday at No 50 Onumonu Street, Owerri, Imo state capital.
The deceased whose wedding was scheduled for October 13, was stabbed repeatedly in several places.
According to Punch, trouble started when Iwuoha confronted Paul who is a security guard at a branch of Guaranty Trust Bank, to stop rearing chickens behind his apartment as the smell and noise of the chickens were not good for his health.
The family, however, reacted violently, beating him up before stabbing him.
An eyewitness identified as John said Iwuoha was taken to several hospitals but he was rejected because of the nature of the injuries.
“The hospitals demanded a police report because the injuries were too much. Before we could get the report, he died. We have reported the matter at the Owerri Urban Police Station. Policemen came here, and his corpse was deposited at a morgue.”
Confirming the incident, Chris Ezike, State Commissioner of Police, said he had ordered that the case be transferred to the homicide section of the Criminal and Investigation and Intelligence Department of the state police command.
